The world as we know it

Posted by on in Poetry

The world looks better through a wall

No more waiting for the holy call

Clouds of terror spread without a trace

A violent world fallen from grace

The worlds a demon it’ll hold you still

It’ll make you breathe against your will

You’re filled with anger, fear and greed

Heavens far we’re stuck in purgatory

We welcome darkness with a smile

It seems our sanity is in exile

Cries and screams drench our soul

The truth unspoken, the lie unfolds

From robberies, to rapes, to murders and blasts

From strata, to religion, to classes and castes

From gender, to colour, to community and race

Unity lost, humanity replaced

Through our veins run hatred and rage

The world left merely a devious stage

One day of peace we will not remember

Our white flags up as we surrender!
